Seattle Post-Intelligencer  8/22/2000
Puget Sound Business Journal editorial 8/28/00

In the following pages, you can access the Washington Council on International Trade's Response to the Panel One Report to the Seattle City Council's WTO Accountability Review Committee (ARC).

Background:

The Seattle City Council created three panels to review various aspects of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Meeting held in Seattle in November, 1999.  Panel One was charged with reviewing the invitational process that brought the WTO to Seattle.

The WCIT Board of Directors determined there were many inaccuracies and consequent inappropriate recommendations by Panel One.

Documented Response:

Through direct reference to the record, the WCIT response shows that both WCIT as an organization and Patricia Davis in her role as President acted in an exemplary fashion in allmatters pertaining to the invitational process and hosting of the WTO in Seattle. The major documents are the WCIT Reply Letter and the Point-by-Point Rebuttal. Both documents are accessible in PDF format as well.

List of Documents:

Executive Summary -- a brief document highlighting the findings of the WCIT response.

WCIT Reply Letter -- a thorough response to Panel One addressed to the Seattle City Council's ARC members, signed by the Chair of the WCIT Board.

Attachment "C" -- The Point-by-Point Rebuttal to Panel One, substantiated by references to the record.
