RESOURCES WTO/Seattle Host Organization Announces Town Hall Series with U.S. Government Officials SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 1999--The Seattle Host Organization (SHO) for the World Trade Organization ministerial, November 29-December 3, 1999, today announced a series of luncheons and town hall meetings with senior U.S. government officials to takeplace around Washington state in the month of October. The series is part of a wide range of events being sponsored by SHO, in preparation for the WTO ministerial, to provide opportunities for the citizens of Greater Seattle and Washington State to learn more about the impacts of international trade on our economy and the importance of the WTO as a global mediator. from senior U.S. government officials on the relationship of international
trade to many other aspects of our lives, such as transportation, the
environment, and jobs, and to engage them in dialogue," said Dr.
Constance W. Rice, Chair of SHO's Education and Outreach Committee.

committees in each city for pulling together these valuable events." Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Carol Browner, Wednesday, October 20th - Administrator Browner will participate in a morning town hall meeting in Seattle on the issues of trade and the environment. Labor Secretary Alexis Herman, Monday October 25th - Secretary Herman will speak at a luncheon and participate in a town hall meeting in Seattle on the issues of trade and labor, worker training, and the transformation of the global economy.
