May 10, 2006 Bipartisan Agreement Covering Labor & Environment in FTAs

In May, 2007, Congress and the Bush Administration agreed to a deal to address congressional concerns by incorporating new labor and environmental standards in pending free trade agreements with Peru, Colombia, Panama and South Korea. This bipartisan agreement paved the way for these agreements to move forward for a final vote by the U.S. Congress.
